It’s official if you haven’t already heard, Aldi has reduced their price of Knödels to 99cents! And it’s the end of the world as we know it. Or it’s day 9 of #selfisolation and shit is gettin’ real; by that I mean I’m on my second glass of wine and I’m thinking if I’m gonna go, I’m gonna go drunk with a lol or two & Brad by my side, who’s with me?

The other thing I’m pondering as I sit at home on my bed for the ten thousandth night in a row, scratching my ass and refreshing Netflix and Mubi – is how Skeet Ulrich was right in Scream when he said: “movies don’t create psychos, movies make psychos more creative.” Did that just get weird? What I’m getting at is that since what feels like the dawn of time, movies have been scrutinised and questioned over their content and the impact that they have on us as individuals and society. But it wasn’t a movie that created a deadly virus that caused countries across the whole world to shut their borders and lock their residents in their homes. No Ma’am. That was us. Movies just subtly (12 Monkeys made 168.8 million at the box office) warned us that day was coming.

So without further adieu, we present: Movies to get you in the Doomsday mood because goddammit, you’re worth it!

Nr. 1: 12 Monkeys

Nr 2: Shaun of the Dead

Nr 3: Blade Runner

Nr 4: Soylent Green

Nr 5: The Road (if you wanna get real dark & gloomy)

PEACE BE WITH YOU FRIENDS
